Wetlands play a critical role in our ecosystem, offering invaluable services such as flood control, water filtration, and habitat provision for diverse plant and animal species. Mitigating the loss and degradation of wetlands is essential for maintaining these vital functions and preserving biodiversity. Protecting and restoring wetlands also contributes to climate resilience by sequestering carbon and mitigating the impacts of extreme weather events. Natural State Streams believes prioritizing wetland conservation and mitigation efforts is important for ensuring the health and sustainability of our ecosytems.
Natural State Streams has worked on a handful of large scale wetland mitigation sites. Our sites include up to 11 wetland blocks within a single site. We specialize in utilizing the site topography and remnant drainage channels to interconnect the wetlands, allowing the entire system to work together. |
